This week I finally have the first version of http://www.djeink.com/ up, which I built in flash. I hope to add more and more art as time goes on. Still trying to get used to using flash. Below is a quick sketch I did of Michael Scott from the Office in Illustrator .
Maybe spent between 45 minutes to an hour on this.
Here are some flashcards I've made to help teach English. I'm trying to spend about 20 minutes on each, and drawing at least 3 a day. These are laminated to keep them clean in class, but it also made them a little harder to scan. Anyways, I've got a whole bunch, so I'll try to keep posting more.
The first pictures are of a friend from high school, and the next set is of some fellow English teachers working in Japan. I definately prefer drawing a single person per picture, because among the subjects some likenesses are better than others. Also keeping a consistent style and level of exageration in the same picture isn't too fun. Im hoping that with time it gets easier.

Here is a fun little picture of some Caricatures-Japan artists, in an all out brawl. I did this on the train to Tokyo yesterday. You can click on it for a closer look at the gory details.
I went to support Hideyuki Watanabe as he fights his way up the ranks in the Eastern Japan newcomer's tournament. He just won his second fight of the tournament, and will fight again in early July. His older brother is Takayuki Watanabe who I worked with briefly at Caricatures-Japan before he left to go freelance. I got to spend the day hanging out with Takanabe and Tanaka, which is always fun. As of last month, I'm working as a Junior High School teacher at Sakushin Gakuin. Its a really big campus, with students from kindergarten through High School. It's has the largest High School in Japan, with over 5,000 students.
While Japanese teachers are in charge of teacher grammar from the textbook, I'm in charge on teaching the conversation based program.
For most of the classes I teach, I team teach with one of two foreigners from my company. I work with Chris Nash two days a week, and once a week with Shairose Kara.
